About Emirates

Starting out as a comparatively small airline in 1985 and remaining on that level for roughly fifteen years, Emirates has developed into one of the major players in global aviation. The airline operates more than 100 Airbus A380-800 aircraft from its only hub in Dubai. That huge amount of passenger traffic also helped develop Dubai International Airport into one of the busiest worldwide.

The airline is famous for its top-notch hard product and service, pioneering concepts like showers in their first class cabin. Emerging from their role as a primarily regional airlines during the first years of existence, Emirates made a huge splash by aggressively targeting flights between Europe and Australia. In the 2010s, Emirates re-directed traffic flows from stops in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to the Middle East.

The airline has since expanded further, serving more than 40 destinations in Europe and even offering non-stop services to 18 cities in North- and South America, eleven of them in the United States.
