Monterrey and Guadalajara: €517 Nonstop Aeromexico Flights from Madrid (Hand Luggage)

SkyTeam Alliance member Aeromexico has a holiday surprise (Christmas or Reyes Magos) with nonstop flights to Monterrey and Guadalajara starting at €517.

We believe this is a great deal because you have the convenience of boarding a plane in Madrid Barajas airport and arriving in Guadalajara or Monterrey without having to pass through Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City or a layover in the United States, queuing in a long line in Miami for immigration, thinking you won’t make your connecting flight.

The fare includes a personal item of up to 10 kilograms measuring 55 cm x 40 cm x 25 cm, and a personal bag.

If you wish to check baggage for the round trip, you will have to pay €140 for a checked bag of 25 kilograms if you select Classic instead of Basic. This option includes seat selection and checked baggage; if you only purchase checked baggage, it will cost you €160, so we recommend the bundle if you want to check luggage.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Aeromexico with your selected flight dates. You can also check what OTAs on Skyscanner have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €15 cheaper.

You will fly nonstop on an Aeromexico Boeing 787 with a 3-3-3 economy class configuration.

This deal will expire on February 5, 2024. The fare requires a minimum stay of 3 days, which is enough time for a taco frenzy, or a maximum stay of 12 months. There are plenty of available flights at this price between January 2024 and early March 2024.

You can use Google Flights (instructions) to find available dates quickly and easily. The flights can be booked directly through Aeromexico’s website, If the website gives you a high price, we recommend that you try the dates on the airline’s Spain website. but they can also be found on OTAs on Skyscanner for less money than on the airline’s website. However, these savings will come with some downsides, as we explain here:

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Multi City options

If your plan includes exploring more than one destination in Mexico, we’ve got you covered. We’ve explored some multi-city options for you, but please note that all these prices are without checked luggage:

  • You can depart from Guadalajara and return from Monterrey, where you can find flights around €519.
  • If you want to return from Mexico City, the price will rise to €589, but you will have a nonstop flight to Madrid, too.
  • f you want to explore other destinations in Mexico, you also have options. In the case of Cancun, we found this deal for €600, but with the return flight via Mexico City.

We have tried more alternative destinations for the return, such as Chiapas or Oaxaca, and the fare increases to €700. We believe that purchasing domestic flights may be a better option.

You can use our multi-city search tool to explore options and find the best price:
