Air Caraibes deploys its Airbus A350-900 fleet on these flights. While their economy class features a terribly narrow 3-4-3 seating, you can find rather comfy lie-flat seats in a 2-2-2 seating pattern up front. You can find a French review (with many pictures) here.

All flights are non-stop services.

Visa Info

Both Martinique, Guadeloupe, and French Guiana are French overseas territories. You can stay without notable restrictions, but you should bring your passport.

Saint Martin is a Dutch overseas territory, so the same applies. As long as you stay under 90 days, most Europeans will need no visa.

Most EU citizens can enter the Dominican Republic visa-free for stays up to 30 days.

Most EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Mexico. All you need to do is fill out the tourist card that is handed out onboard the plane. For tourist and business purposes, a visa-free stay of 180 days is possible.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, these tickets are on sale until July 31, 2025, without a minimum stay, for travel in July and August 2025. Availabilities may run out earlier.

Google Flights does not preview discounted flight dates, but instead shows an increased price of €1,700 for all possible dates. The best way to search these tickets is Air Caraibes’ own preview calendar, which is available on their homepage after entering origin, destination and travel class:

While online travel agencies offer the cheapest tickets on platforms like Skyscanner, we still recommend purchasing premium tickets directly from the airline.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Miles & Points

Tickets are issued in booking class I, but you can only earn miles in Air Caraibe’s own loyalty program, Prefrence.

French Guiana, an overseas region of France in South America, is known for its lush rainforests, the Guiana Space Centre near Kourou, and historic sites like the Îles du Salut, including the former penal colony of Devil’s Island. The currency is the euro (EUR), and prices are generally high compared to neighbouring countries, reflecting European standards. French Guiana’s transport infrastructure is limited, especially outside urban areas. Within cities like Cayenne, there are some local buses, but public transport is sparse and unreliable, so getting around often requires a car. Between towns, travel is mostly by road, with a single main highway connecting major settlements along the coast. Inland areas are harder to reach and often require river transport or small planes. Overall, mobility can be challenging without private transportation, particularly outside the coastal region.

  1. Samo says:

EU citizens don’t need a passport for Martinique, Guadeloupe or French Guiana – while these are outside Schengen, they are part of France and therefore EU ID cards are sufficient for entry.

This is different from SXM where passport is indeed necessary since the airport is on the Dutch side (which is a separate country within the Kingdom).
