SkyTeam member Air France is currently offering flights from Amsterdam to Antananarivo in Madagascar starting at €928 in premium economy class. This is an impressive offer since reaching the island could seem difficult when most European and Middle Eastern airlines fly there with a technical stop and are expensive. However, the French airline flies there non-stop from Paris, making easy European connections possible. Despite being a Premium light fare, the ticket includes one piece of checked luggage, weighing no more than 23 kilos.
Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Air France with your selected dates. If the site shows a fare between €1,100 and €1,200, go to Air France’s homepage and go to TNR:A-TNR:A>AMS:A&activeConnection=0&bookingFlow=LEISURE” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>their calendar by leaving the dates empty.

You would fly Air France’s or KLM’s short-haul fleet between Amsterdam and Paris. These include KLM’s shiny-new Airbus A321neo or Air France’s old Babybus or fancy Airbus A220. These will have a 3-3 or 3-2 configuration and you will fly economy class. The long flights are on Air France’s Boeing 777-200s (judging from the seat map), which have a 2-4-2 configuration. According to AeroLOPA, these are Collins Aerospace Icon seats with a 19″(48 cm) seat width, a 38″ (97 cm) pitch and a 130-degree recline.
Our editor, Peer has reviewed this product already and he was not impressed. You can read why and how it would impact you below:
Air France has two different types of premium economy seats. The seats in their Boeing planes do not recline in the conventional sense but instead slide forward. This can be a bonus, especially on a day-flight since you’re not disturbed by the person sitting in front of you. Tall passengers, however, have difficulties sleeping, as “reclining” leads to very limited leg room. The seats in Airbus A350 planes are better and are closer to the competition. Air France’s premium economy, however, has a major downside that has nothing to do with the seats: The cheapest fare includes 0 checked luggage to most destinations! Furthermore, the service and catering are often disappointing.

Search & Book
The fare rules do not state how long this fare will remain valid. There is a minimum stay of 6 nights or a Saturday night and a maximum stay of 3 months. There is good availability throughout 2025, with the cheapest flights being in January.
You can use our calendar above that will show you availabilities. Once you select your dates, it will forward you to Air France’s website with your preselected flight dates. However, we noticed that prices often jump back to around €1,100, but you can get around them. If you go to the homepage and remove the dates, you will get to an availability calendar. There, you can see cheap flights. If it still doesn’t work, change your country on the homepage – for example to Ireland.
