€2,891 British Airways Airbus A380 First Class from Johannesburg to 19 European Countries

british airways first

Oneworld member British Airways has issued a marvellous first class fare for roundtrips from Johannesburg to numerous European cities. Prices start as low as ZAR 57,800 for flights from South Africa to Madrid with a stop in London. The price includes first class lounge access, priority services and 3 checked bags up to 32 kg each.

While these fares require starting your journey in South Africa, you enjoy much more time in a First Class seat than during similarly priced flights to the USA. You can stretch out the time between the two flights to use them as the end and starting point for two different trips to Johannesburg.

With this deal, you can fly to the following European cities (we have limited the selection to one city per country, but there are many more destinations available):

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for the cheapest tickets to Dublin and the non-stop flights to London – for trips up to 28 days. Availability for the other destinations is roughly the same. The tool will forward you to British Airways with your selected flight dates.

British Airways operates two daily flights between London and Johannesburg. One is operated by their Airbus A380 fleet, the other is a Boeing 777-300ER service. Both award you with a spacious seat, but only the 777 gives you a (narrow) chance to experience their new First Class with doors.

British Airways First Class

British Airways’ first class is not as glamorous as its Middle Eastern or Asian competitors. On the other hand, it’s often offered for prices that are not very far from what others charge for business class. All tickets include a 3x 32 kg baggage allowance, access to first class lounges (where available) and exquisite catering.

The seats are 1.98 m long and also more spacious than those in the new business class Club Suite. However, there are only doors in the latest product on board a few of the Boeing 777 planes. Depending on the type of aircraft, the cabin consists of 8 to 14 first class seats.

Flights within Europe are European business class trips, which comes down to regular economy seats with a blocked middle-seat and better catering.

Visa Info

Most Europeans do not need a visa to enter South Africa, as long as their stay does not exceed 90 days. You merely need a passport with 2 empty pages, and a ticket to leave South Africa.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, these tickets are on sale until February 5, 2025. A minimum stay of three days is necessary to get the lowest fare. No more than 12 months may pass between your outbound and inbound flight. You can find discounted outbounds from January through June and in September 2025.

Google Flights helps you find additional flight dates and destinations. We recommend buying premium tickets directly from the airline.
