Etihad Airways is offering a business deal from Europe to Phuket & Bangkok, starting at just €1,647 from Rome. This deal includes 35kg of checked luggage and priority services, but not lounge access and seat selection. The cheapest fare that includes those goodies costs €1,825 on Etihad’s website for travel from Rome to Phuket. You can find departure dates from August 2025 through July 2026.
We have been updating this post regularly over the past six weeks. While prices from Italy have risen from initially €1,444 (w/o lounge access), tickets from Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris have become notably cheaper.
To Phuket:
To Bangkok:
- Rome at €1,768

- Milan at €1,834
- Copenhagen at €1,836 (~DKK 13,710)

From Vienna, Etihad uses a Boeing 777, and flights from Paris are operated on their Airbus A380 for the morning flights. Most other cities are served with a Boeing 787 from Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately, the evening flights from Rome are operated by Wamos Air on an Airbus A330 with a 2-2-2 configuration, and the evening flight from Madrid is operated by Air Europa on a Boeing 787 with a 1-2-1 configuration. On some flights to Phuket, Etihad advertises its new Airbus A321LR. You can expect lie-flat seats on these planes, as well.
Etihad has a good business class, which offers direct access to the aisle for all seats. Additionally, the food & drinks, as well as the service are hard to beat. The biggest weaknesses are its average entertainment program (which is becoming less important in the age of tablets and notebooks). Issues like the airline’s overpriced internet service and subpar business class lounge in Abu Dhabi are things of the past, as Etihad now offers better value packages and operates from a new terminal at its hub.

Search & Book
According to the fare rules, tickets are on sale until August 31, 2025. A maximum stay of three months applies. You can find departure dates from August 2025 through July 2026.
You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on Etihad Airways’s website if you wish to book the Comfort fare that includes lounge access. Otherwise, you can save money by booking through Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Booking the Comfort fare that includes lounge access results in you getting twice as many miles at Etihad Guest.
Booking class P used to be the booking class for Etihad’s The Residence first class. The partner programs are not yet aware of that change (at least on their websites) and so this deal would get you an enormous number of miles. - 15,652 Award Miles on American AAdvantage
