Star Alliance member All Nippon Airways (short: ANA) is known for its excellent service and onboard products. Obviously, you don’t get a 5-star Skytrax rating for nothing (at least in most cases). Therefore, the carrier selling discounted tickets for flights from Milan to Tokyo is a pleasant surprise. Prices for seats in economy class start at €472, and the fare includes two pieces of checked luggage.
If you want to upgrade your travel experience, opt for the business class ticket. While €1,930 isn’t exactly a steal for trips between Europe and Japan, it’s a really good price for ANA tickets.
The carrier will operate a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the route between Milan and Tokyo. Both business class and economy class seem to be top-notch. Our editor Felix was able to review the less expensive cabin class, and of course, we also found an evaluation of ANA’s premium class:
Search & Book
According to the fare rules, tickets will be sold until February 10th, 2020. The deal is valid for trips commencing between April 20th and June 30th. And cheap tickets will again become available starting from September 1st through December 17th.
The minimum stay requirements are for six days — nothing unusual here. And if you want, you can spend up to 3 months in Japan before returning home.
Google Flights (instructions) is, once again a great help on your way to finding the cheapest options. Use the tool to find dates that will suit your schedule and then visit the carrier’s website for booking or try to compare prices that OTAs offer with our Travel Dealz flight search.

Information & Tips for Japan
Japan offers a blend of modern cities and natural beauty, with highlights including Tokyo’s bustling urban landscape, Kyoto’s historic temples, Mount Fuji, and the hot springs of Hakone. The currency is the Japanese yen (JPY), and credit cards are widely accepted in urban areas, though cash is still common in rural regions. Japan can be pricey, especially in cities, with high costs for accommodation and dining, but budget options are available. The weather varies by region: summers are hot and humid, while winters can be cold, particularly in the north. The best time to visit is typically during spring (for cherry blossoms) or autumn (for fall foliage).
Japan’s transport infrastructure is highly efficient and easy to navigate. In cities like Tokyo and Osaka, the metro and train systems are extensive, punctual, and relatively easy to use, though they can get crowded during peak hours. Buses and taxis are also available, but less convenient for tourists. For intercity travel, Japan’s Shinkansen (bullet trains) are fast, comfortable, and reliable, though more expensive than other options. Buses and domestic flights are also available for longer distances, but trains remain the preferred choice for many travellers due to speed and convenience.
