Last Chance: Book Finnair Plus Award Flights Before the Miles Devaluation & Without Surcharges

Finnair Airbus A330 am Gate Kopie

A month ago, an upcoming devaluation of Finnair Plus award miles was announced. Starting from June 15, not only will the required point amount increase, but Finnair will also reintroduce fuel surcharges.

Until now, e.g. a one-way flight from many European cities to Asia in business class cost 80,000 points + around €90 in taxes. In a few days, this price will increase to a staggering 95,000 points + over €200.

At this point, this is a brief reminder to use up your miles as soon as possible. Only until tomorrow, Wednesday, June 14, you can still take advantage of the following sweet spots (prices are one-way):

  • Business class to North America & Asia: 80,000 miles plus taxes (approximately €90)
  • Economy class Denmark → Northern Europe1: 7,500 miles plus taxes (approximately €30)
  • Business class Denmark → Northern Europe1: 12,500 miles plus taxes (approximately €30)

1 – applies to flights to Finland or Iceland, among others

Currently, there is good availability on many routes

Despite the upcoming devaluation (meaning a high interest in award flights), the availability of mileage tickets is currently relatively good. For instance, on the route to Bangkok, multiple dates in February 2024 can be booked at a favourable price:

In this example, 80,000 points + €84 are required for a one-way business class flight:
