Star Alliance members SWISS and Lufthansa are currently offering cheap tickets from Europe to Seoul starting at €480. While Lufthansa allows Star Alliance Gold members to fly with 23 kg of luggage at no extra cost, all others will have to pay €80 more for the fare that includes luggage. Departures are available in November and December, with additional dates in March from Paris.
You can depart from the following cities:
- Dublin at €480
- Amsterdam at €487
- Stockholm at €500 (~SEK 5,483)

Our calendar displays available dates from all three cities in green. Simply select the point of origin that suits you best, the dates, and we’ll redirect you to Lufthansa’s booking site, where you’ll get the best price for both airlines:

SWISS uses an Airbus A340 with a 2-4-2 economy class for its relatively new flights from Zürich to Seoul. Lufthansa, on the other hand, uses an Airbus A350 with a 3-3-3 economy class for its flights between Munich and Seoul and a Boeing 747 with a 3-4-3 economy class between Frankfurt and Seoul. The long-haul flights take roughly 10h30 to Seoul and 13 hours on the way back to Europe.
If you appreciate a row of 2, you should fly with SWISS. If, however, you’d like a power socket on these daytime flights, that allows you to charge e.g. your laptop, then Lufthansa is the better choice. SWISS merely offers a USB port.
Some EU citizens can enter South Korea visa-free and stay for up to 90 days until the end of 2024. Please check if you have to register via K-ETA before starting your trip.
