Marriott Bonvoy has an interesting promotion for its own flat rental marketplace – Homes & Villas. Marriott Bonvoy members can earn 40,000 extra points for a stay of two nights, costing at least US$1,500 (~€1,278) – or more between June 1 and January 4, when you sign up and book on or before May 22, 2025.

The opportunity to get 40,000 points (you’d normally have to spend $4,000 at Marriott Hotels as a basic member) is attractive on its own, but it seems like the bonus earnings are not capped. So each eligible $1,500+ stay of two nights or more will give you 40,000 points more.
The extra points are credited to your Marriott Bonvoy account within 72 hours after your stay. Points+Cash bookings or reward stays are not eligible. If you are not a member of Marriott Bonvoy, you can sign up for free.
Normally, you only get 5 points per US dollar spent at Homes & Villas (excl. taxes and fees). That means that a $1,500 booking (which, with fees, ends up costing $2,000) would normally get you around 7,750 points. Now, you’d be getting 47,750 points – that’s over 5 times more than usual.
Those points can easily save you over $300 when you use them to book a hotel room in the future. E.g. at the Rome Marriott Park hotel, you’d get 2 nights with 39,000 points, and each night would usually cost €240.

That means that this offer represents a cashback of roughly 20% on Marriott Homes & Villas bookings of roughly $2,000 (final price).
