Oneworld Business Class to Denver for €1,567 r/t from Italy; €1,333 Returning to Spain (incl. Sapphire Status)

American Airlines WideBody Flagship Business

Oneworld members American Airlines, Iberia, and British Airways are currently selling cheap business class tickets from Italy to Denver, with prices of around €1,575 from various Italian airports. The flights are usually routed via Madrid, London, or American Airlines’ hubs in the USA, with you spending the long-haul transatlantic flights in lie-flat seats. If you route the flights via London, Helsinki, and one US city, you’ll even earn 600 TP at the British Airways Executive Club, which is enough to earn you the Oneworld Sapphire status.

It is also possible to fly even cheaper if you return to Spain instead of Italy. Here is an example for €1,333 with an outbound flight from Rome to Denver and back from Denver to Barcelona in British Airways’ business class.

The cheapest option is to fly with American Airlines, usually with two stops on the way. These stops can be quite convenient to earn a few extra miles. If you, however, prefer to maximize the lie-flat time and minimize the number of stops, you can pay around €25 more to fly with British Airways, with only one stop in London. Our calendar displays all available dates for trips of 10 – 28 days at the cheapest price for all routes and lets you choose to which website you want to be redirected.

You can fly from the following cities:

If you select the slightly more expensive option, you’ll fly to London and will then cross the Atlantic in a British Airways Airbus A350. The cheapest option is flying with American Airlines, via New York, Chicago, Charlotte, or Dallas. Unless you’re flying from Milan or Rome, Iberia will first fly you to Madrid, as American Airlines doesn’t fly to Turin, Bologna, etc.

Even if American Airlines doesn’t enjoy a good reputation for many, its business class is very good. Every seat has direct access to the aisle and the service, as well as the food and the seat, are at a very high standard. Travel-Dealz founder Johannes tested the Boeing 777 and really enjoyed the flight.

British Airways was the first airline to offer lie-flat seats – over 20 years ago. Sadly, many seats are still from that time and no longer reach today’s standards in other aspects. Especially in the Boeing 747, the seats were extremely narrow. Furthermore, it is unusual that every other seat is facing backward. If you, however, fly in a plane that has the new Club World seats installed, you’ll be flying in a much better product, sometimes even with Suite seats that offer a lot of privacy. A general downside at British Airways: there is no free seat reservation, which is unusual for a business class.

If Denver is not the North American destination of your choice, you can also fly to other US cities in business class, departing from Dublin for around €1,500:

The only restrictions mentioned in the fare rules are that the trip has to be at least 10 days long and that you need to book the tickets at least 120 days before departure. Our calendar above displays all available dates for trips of up to 4 weeks, but you could use Google Flights to filter by airline, connecting airport, or other personal preferences. You can then book the flights on American Airlines‘ or British Airways‘ website, depending on who you wish to fly with.

Information & Tips for USA

The USA offers many sights, natural wonders and cultural significance. Thanks to numerous airlines offering flights across the Atlantic, it is always pretty inexpensive to get there. Alternatively, you can also cross the Atlantic by boat.

Immigration, ESTA & Visa Requirements

The USA has one of the strictest entry regulations in the world. Most EU citizens, among others, are lucky to be able to participate in the so-called Visa Waiver Program. If you get an electronic entry permit (ESTA)  for approximately €20, you don’t need a visa for entry.

The Best Time to Visit

Due to its sheer size, the perfect time to visit the USA varies greatly from region to region. In winter, Florida is very popular due to the mild temperatures. In the summer the West and East Coasts are flooded by tourists which drives up the prices for hotels and flights and during the Indian Summer in late autumn New England is a very popular destination. The hurricane season between July and September can be dangerous in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Florida and the southern states are regularly struck by these tropical storms. Blizzards occur from the East Coast to the Midwest during the winter months and regularly put air traffic and public life on hold.

Currency

The US dollar is widely used throughout the world and accepted as a currency in most tourist hotspots worldwide. That being said, carrying cash isn’t necessary in the US, all you need is a credit card! These are very common in the USA and are accepted pretty much everywhere without any issues. If you already have a credit card in your wallet, you should make sure that it does not charge a foreign currency fee if possible. Carrying a few dollars in cash doesn’t hurt though. You might need cash e.g. for the bus ticket if you want to buy it directly from the driver. Most of the time you even have to give exact change.
