Bangkok: €403 Saudia Flights from Paris in May (incl. Checked Bags)

Bangkok Thailand Pagoda

The days when many airlines offered cheap flight tickets to Bangkok are sadly over. However, with SkyTeam member Saudia, you can still get to the Thai metropolis from Paris at a reasonable price: €401 for the round trip, including luggage. Availability is good for trips in May 2024, but you have to spend at least six hours in either Riyadh or Jeddah each way to get this fare.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Saudia with your selected flight dates. You can also check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €30 cheaper.

Flights between Paris and Riyadh are operated Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with the industry-standard 3-4-3 seating in economy class. Services to Bangkok are operated by Boeing 787 aircraft with a 3-3-3 seating pattern. You can expect individual in-flight-entertainment and power outlets in all planes. Please note that Saudia is a dry airline and does not allow alcohol on their planes on in their lounges.

I flew Saudia economy class as recently as December 2023 on a similar route (from Frankfurt to Bangkok via Jeddah) and think the airline is up to international standards when it comes to the inflight product. While Saudia is infamous for organizational flaws, especially for long term bookings, this deal is short term enough that you probably won’t run into problems.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, these tickets are on sale until April 7, 2024 for departures before May 31, 2024. Your inbound might return later. The fare has no minimum or maximum stay requirements.

Google Flights will help you find additional flight dates. You can even score cheaper tickets if you don’t mind staying more than 12 hours in either Jeddah or Riyadh. While you can find the cheapest tickets sold by OTAs via Skyscanner, we generally recommend booking directly with the airline.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
