Montreal & Toronto: €612 Star Alliance Premium Economy From Budapest

Lufthansa Premium Economy 748

Star Alliance members Lufthansa, Austrian, and Air Canada are currently selling cheap premium economy flights from Budapest to Toronto and Montreal. Apart from a far more comfortable seat, you’ll also enjoy other benefits such as a higher baggage allowance. If you’re willing to pay roughly €50 more, you could also fly from Poland or Prague.

Info

Worldwide travel restrictions are in place to slow the spread of Covid-19. We strongly recommend gathering detailed information about the travel and quarantine restrictions that apply to your desired origin and destination.

A good start is the International Air Transport Association (IATA) website. It provides current updates on a country’s immigration policies. Even better, the Covid-19 Travel Regulations Map is one of the most useful tools you can find.

You would usually fly via Frankfurt, the long-haul flight either being operated by Lufthansa or Air Canada. You can also fly the entire trip with Austrian via Vienna.

We couldn’t find any fare rules for these flights, but they seem to be available for trips until the end of May 2021. You can select available dates on our calendar above, or use Google Flights. In any case, you should book directly on Lufthansa’s website.

Lufthansa’s Premium Economy

In comparison to other airlines, Lufthansa’s Premium Economy is solid, but not outstanding. The reclining seats and legroom are above average. Still, cabin service and entertainment are almost the same as in LH’s economy class product.

In contrast to its regular economy seats, Lufthansa offers broader and more comfortable seats in Premium Economy, switching from a 3-4-3 / 3-3-3 seat alignment to 2-4-2 (Boeing 747 and Airbus A380) or 2-3-2 on its other wide-body aircraft. Furthermore, you can check two bags up to 23 kg at no additional cost. While the food is identical, it’ll be served on chinaware instead of plastic.

Information & Tips for Canada

Canada offers a wide range of attractions, from the Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park to the vibrant cities of Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. The currency used is the Canadian dollar (CAD), and credit cards are widely accepted. Prices can vary, but Canada is generally more expensive than many other destinations, particularly in major cities. The weather varies significantly by region, with cold winters and mild summers in most areas, while the west coast enjoys milder winters. The best time to visit is usually summer or early autumn for pleasant temperatures.

Canada’s transport infrastructure is well-developed, with reliable public transit systems in major cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, including buses, subways, and light rail. However, outside of these urban areas, public transport can be limited, and a car is often necessary for getting around. Between cities, domestic flights are common, especially for long distances, but trains and buses are also available, though travel times can be lengthy. Road conditions are generally good, and driving is a popular way to explore the country.
