Star Alliance member TAP Portugal has put a good price tag on flights from Florence, Milan, Rome and Venice to the USA. For just €257, the airline will fly you to New York and back. Sadly, a checked bag is not included in this fare and would add an extra cost of roughly €140 on TAP’s website – unless you’re a Star Alliance Gold member. A change of planes in Lisbon is necessary in both directions.

Our availability calendar shows you all possible flight dates at the lowest fare for trips of 5 to 28 days. You can buy tickets from online travel agencies via our flight search, or for €40 extra directly with the airline. Our form offers both redirect choices, you’ll have to decide which option suits you better:

While there are some cheap options to JFK, most flights will take you to Newark. TAP has two daily flights between Lisbon and Newark, both of which are Airbus A321neo services. You can expect the usual 3-3 seating pattern in economy class, but with a little more legroom than TAP’s European economy. You will also enjoy personal video screens on the transatlantic legs.
Search & Book
The only restriction that we were able to find is that your trip has to be at least 6 days long or include a Sunday. The availability is pretty good from January through April 2023.
Google Flights helps you find additional flight dates or suitable dates for longer journeys. You can then book the flights via our flight search or directly on TAP’s website.

Information & Tips for USA
The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.
The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.
