The feeder flights to and from Istanbul are operated on various aircraft. Some connections even feature lie-flat seats, for example, on the Airbus A350. Between Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur, you are scheduled to fly on an A350, featuring Turkish Airlines’ newest (and arguably best) business class (Review). The onward journey to Auckland is on a Malaysia Airlines A330 with its own suite (Review). This means that depending on your connection, you can get lie-flat seats on all segments.

Visa Info

Most European citizens don’t need a visa to enter New Zealand for up to three months. An online registration called NZeTA is mandatory.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, this fare can be booked without an expiration date for travel between January and March 2026. Further availability may exist. The minimum stay is not defined, and the maximum stay is 12 months.

You can find suitable dates using Google Flights. Please note that correct prices will only be shown after you have selected a date combination. You can then book your flights with Skyscanner or directly on Turkish Airlines’ website.

Stopovers in Istanbul are possible for a small surcharge. Stopovers in Kuala Lumpur are also possible, but in our tests, this increased the price by several hundred euros.

    Thank you, Carlos.
On which connection it could be possible to get lie-flat seats on all segments?

    • Chris says:

On the ones that feature A330 eg. So some of the flights to FRA or to HAM operate. However TK rotates them frequently and there is no gurarantee.

      • Nicolas says:

        Hi Chris,
As all flights (even operated by the MH) via turkishairlines.com have “TK” flight number, the mileage, in principle, would be calculated by Miles&Smiles as per TK own class J or class Z.
        Am I wrong?

        • Ditmar Lange says:

          Hi Nicolas.
What you’re saying would be correct for SkyTeam and Oneworld programs, but for Star Alliance, the operating carrier is the one that counts. So if it’s operated by MH, it will count as an MH flight.
