Two days ago, we reported that Miles&More stated in a call that the Companion Award could now be available permanently for partner airlines as well. Unfortunately, this statement about the status benefit for Senators and HON Circle Members has now been revised, and they are now only referring to a temporary goodwill solution.
We can confirm that the Companion Award Flight for Senator or HON Circle Members is currently bookable as a goodwill gesture for a companion on all partner airlines under the usual conditions (50% miles), due to the transition to the new system – whether via the new dynamic system or the fixed award flight table.
After a technical transition phase, the Companion Award will again be restricted to the airlines Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Eurowings, Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Luxair, and SWISS. In the future, ITA Airways will also be integrated. Once the respective transition has taken place, this will be indicated accordingly in the booking platform.

Unfortunately, there is no exact end date for how long this “goodwill action” will remain in effect. Nor is there any reasonable explanation as to why this goodwill action was launched without any official communication. The examples listed in the original article showing the savings for Lufthansa’s top customers thus remain correct, but are unfortunately only usable for an as-yet unforeseeable period.

And I started wondering if SEN woudl be worthwhile again
Considering how slow Lufthansa’s system development is this feature will be available for years to come. At least I hope so.
