The Alitalia successor, ITA Airways, has been part of the Lufthansa Group (41%) since this year and is also a Miles&More partner. In early February, earning (and redeeming) miles was introduced for the first time, but with one major restriction: Until now, Miles&More only awarded award miles for ITA flights—not status points.
That didn’t last long. There’s already a new update for all ITA frequent flyers: As of this week, earning Points, Qualifying Points, and HON Circle Points (for business class flights) has become possible. The information has already been updated on the Miles&More website and now reflects the following:

The point amounts are the same as with Lufthansa, Swiss, and other partner airlines. This means ITA Airways is now a fully integrated Miles&More member. Anyone who booked one of the many ITA deals in recent months is now a step closer to achieving Senator status.
