The SkyTeam member Delta is offering good prices from Copenhagen to New York. Prices start at DKK 2,438 (~€327) when you travel with hand luggage. The cheapest fares with luggage start at DKK 3,329 (~€446). Only SkyTeam status holders can book the cheapest fare and bring 23 kg of luggage.
Our availability calendar shows all possible flight dates at the lowest fare from trips up to 28 days. You can either be redirected to Air France’s website or Delta’s website. We personally recommend booking on Delta’s website, as it is the cheapest option. However, it comes with some serious restrictions (e.g. free seat selection, earning miles at SkyMiles). For €20 more, you can purchase the same tickets on Air France’ website.

Delta is using a Boeing 767 in both directions. This plane features a 2-3-2 configuration. The outbound flight departs and arrives in the afternoon, which is great for your transfer, check-in and dinner plans. While the inbound flight gives you an extra day in the city by departing in the evening.

This fare can be booked without an expiration date. The minimum stay requirement is 6 days or one Sunday. Furthermore, your stay cannot exceed 3 months.
Our calendar above displays all available dates for trips up to 28 days. For longer trips, check out Google Flights’ calendar. Not only Delta, but also KLM and Air France sell these tickets. Depending on where you buy the flight, you may have a different flight number, e.g. DL219 or AF3623 for the very same flight. This has certain up- and downsides, especially regarding the mileage credit:
Mileage
Delta issues the tickets in booking class E, which is a reduced economy fare. If you’re a Delta SkyMiles member, this fare will give you exactly 0 (zero!) miles. A way to avoid this brutally low (well, non-existent) mileage credit is to book the flight on Air France’s website with an Air France flight number. It won’t always work, but you can give it a try.
Here’s what the Copenhagen-New York flight will earn you on a Delta flight number in booking class E:
- 1,922 Miles on Aeromexico Club Premier
- 1,922 Miles on Air Europa Suma
- 1,922 Miles on China Airlines Dynasty Flyer
- 1,922 Miles on MEA Cedar Miles
- 1,922 Miles on LATAM Pass
- 1,538 Award Miles + 20 XP on Flying Blue
- Customize Calculation
And here’s that same flight with an Air France flight number in booking class V:
- 3,846 Award Miles + 50 Tier Points on Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
- 1,922 Miles on MEA Cedar Miles
- 1,922 RDM + 384 MQD on Delta SkyMiles
- 1,922 Miles on ITA Volare
- 1,538 Miles on Aeromexico Club Premier
- 1,538 Miles on Aerolíneas Argentinas AerolíneasPlus
- 1,538 Miles on Saudia Alfursan
- 1,538 Miles on Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles
- 1,538 Points on Malaysia Airlines Enrich
- 1,538 Miles on Korean Air Skypass
- 1,538 Miles on Garuda Indonesia GarudaMiles
- 1,538 Miles on GOL Aéreos Smiles
- 1,538 Miles on Air Europa Suma
- 1,538 Award Miles on Etihad Guest
- 1,538 Award Miles on Japan Airlines Mileage Bank
- 1,538 Points on SAS EuroBonus
- 484 Award Miles + 20 XP on Flying Blue
- Customize Calculation
In the end, you’ll have to see which option suits you better and add up the miles for both segments with the flight numbers that your booking displays.
By the way, if you want to maximize the number of SkyMiles, the best option is to fly via Amsterdam or Paris, instead of non-stop. That way, it’s easy to get an Air France or KLM flight number, and you’re also flying a longer route.

Hotel prices in New York are rather steep. Make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:
Otherwise, check out membership clubs like Secret Escapes or Voyage Prive.

Information & Tips for USA
The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.
The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.
