Lufthansa routes you via Munich, where you board the airlines’ Airbus A380 to Bangkok.

Lufthansa has its own terminal for First Class passengers! This and the food in Lufthansa’s First Class are widely considered to be among the best. The First Class terminal has its own airport security control, free food, hotel-like rooms with bed and bathtub, and so on. You get driven to the plane in a limousine.

Usually, the 8 first class seats are in a 1-2-1 formation, meaning that every seat has direct access to the aisle. You’ll be allowed to check in 3 pieces of luggage and bring 2 carry-ons. In Zurich, you’ll enjoy the first class lounge, which was recently named the best in the world. You can read all about SWISS’s first class in this review.

If Bangkok isn’t your final destination, a Thai Airways or Bangkok Airways plane will take you to Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui. Depending on airline and equipment, you will be seated in economy, premium economy or business class. If your Thai domestic flights are operated by Bangkok Airways in economy class, it will be cheaper to purchase the First Class ticket to Bangkok and the economy domestic flight separately – though it is significantly less convenient.

Search & Book

This deal does not have an expiration date, but it requires a minimum stay of six days or a Saturday overnight stay, and a maximum stay of twelve months applies. Availabilities are sparse during the travel period.

Sadly, Google Flights can be a little shaky when it comes to previewing availabilities. We recommend using Lufthansa’s best price search to find available flight dates. It comes with the added benefit of booking directly on Lufthansa’s website.

Information & Tips for Thailand

Thailand is famous for its vibrant cities, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Key sights include the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in Bangkok, the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui. The currency is the Thai baht (THB), and while credit cards are commonly accepted in tourist areas, cash is often preferred in local markets. The cost of living is generally low, with budget accommodations and street food available, but prices can rise in more touristy areas. The weather is tropical, with a hot, rainy season from May to October and a cooler, dry season from November to February.

Getting around Thailand is fairly easy, with a mix of modern and traditional options. In cities like Bangkok, public transport includes the Skytrain (BTS), metro (MRT), and river ferries, which are convenient but can get crowded. Taxis and motorbike taxis are also widely available. For intercity travel, buses and trains are common and affordable, though train journeys can be slow. Domestic flights are frequent and often the fastest way to travel longer distances, especially to popular islands or northern regions. However, traffic congestion in urban areas can be a challenge, particularly during rush hours.

    Hi Community,
is the deal dead, it can’t be? Followed the instruction to find any available flights on ITA Matrix. All I can find is the lowest price of 55812 NOK. Despite browsing through the months.
    Am I doing something wrong?

    Cheers!

  2. Dirk says:

Thanks so much, Felix!! I booked an itinerary OSL/ZRH/BKK/MUN/OSL departing December 6th with a return January 15th allowing me to get to Australia and back! I paid 37.722 NOK and used the LH booking page (after first searching the ITA Matrix)… interesting was that both Swiss and Austrian sites had the price about 9k NOK more expensive. I have then used Krisflyer miles (which were expiring!) to complete the legs from BKK/MEL/BKK.

Really appreciate all the advice you detailed!!!

  3. Nicolas says:

    Many thanks, dear Felix.
