Wingly is like a carpooling portal for flights in general aviation planes: Pilots can offer trips or sightseeing flights, and you can tag along – for a share of the price. You can pay for these services either directly or by using a gift card. Until February 16, 2025, you can get up to a 20% discount when paying directly:
You can get the following gift cards:
- £120 for £105 (-12.5%)
- £215 for £180 (-16%)
- £350 for £295 (-16%)
- £500 for £400 (-20%)
You can also get a 15% discount on the exact price of the excursion you intend to book. Often it’ll be worth it, as it’s only rarely more worthwhile to get a 20% discount for a higher amount than what you actually need. You’ll have to try and see. To get the 15% discount, you’ll have to click on “Gift this flight” on the flight’s site.

Here are some flights that Wingly offers (with discounted prices):
- Sightseeing flight over Silverstone Circuit: £97 (~€111) pp (for 2 people)
- Sightseeing flight over the White Cliffs and Kent: £100 (~€115) pp (for 7 people)
- Belgian Coast and Bruges: €120 pp (for 2 people)
- Sightseeing flight over South West Scotland: £129 (~€148) pp (for 2 people)
- Helicopter flight over Newcastle: £142 (~€163) pp (for 3 people)
- Day or weekend excursion to the Isle of Man: £143 (~€164) pp (for 3 people)

About Wingly
Wingly is an initially French company that moved operations to Berlin in 2016. Since its creation in 2015, the start-up has long left the cradle and expanded into Germany, Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom. The idea of connecting private pilots with potential customers via a flight sharing platform wasn’t new at the time.
In America, several of these platforms were shutdown because of legal issues, because their offerings couldn’t be distinguished from commercial aviation, which requires a different license and business model. European laws are more benevolent towards sharing economy websites, although Wingly had to leave France for a similar reason.
The platform is well received by both passengers and general aviation pilots. It is probably the best known website of this kind. More than 20,000 verified pilots offer general aviation flights on Wingly, with more than 2,000 possible airfields to start (or end) your journey.
Redeem Wingly Gift Card
As mentioned earlier, you can either buy gift cards at a fixed value from the gift card page. You can toggle the currency you want to use (GBP, EUR or CHF) at the very bottom of the page.

If you already have your eyes set on a flight you want to take, you can select between paying in cash or with a gift card. Select the gift card option if the 15% for the exact amount is the better deal.

In the next step, you can purchase the gift card with the desired value. The site even offers you prices for one, two or three persons on the same flight and adjusts the value of the gift card.

When you’re going to book the flight, in the fourth booking step – Payment – you can click on Add a gift card to redeem your gift card.
