In addition to their marvelous youth offer, the national Railway of Belgium SNCB also has a very interesting flat rate for adult riders in form of the Off-Peak Unlimited pass. During the upcoming summer, you can purchase a flat rate ticket for all trains valid on 31 consecutive days. It comes at the price of €59 for second class or €89 for first class travel and is valid daily after 9 am. On Weekdays or national holidays, you can use it all day long.

As long as you ride after 9 am, even Intercitys are included in this offer. The only exception comes for rides to Brussels airport, which require an extra fee of €6.40 per person. The ticket is only valid for the ticket holder and is not refundable after the first day of validity.

You can purchase the ticket at any time during July or August 2023, and it is valid for 31 consecutive days after your selected start date. September 6, 2023, is set as the last possible date of validity. On this day, the flat rate expires, even if you purchased it just one or two weeks prior.

As mentioned previously, you can get an even cheaper flat rate if you are under the age of 26:

The only way to get the ticket is downloading the SNCB app (Google Play Store / Apple App Store) as it’s explained here:

Bottom Line

This is another marvelous offer by SNCB. The ticket pays off after a couple of rides and the cheapest alternative for a train flat rate in Belgium would be the Interrail Benelux pass, which also includes trains in the Netherlands and Luxembourg, but checks out at €198 per person for eight days.
