Premium cruise line Celebrity Cruises currently has an attractive offer: A 15-night cruise from Rome to Tampa with stops in France, Spain, Portugal, and the Bahamas onboard the Celebrity Constellation currently only costs £773 (~€900) per person. Far more attractive, however, is the price of the ocean view cabin, which lies at only £820 (~€955). Sadly, however, the balcony cabin is far more expensive, costing £2,189 (~€2,550).
The price includes full board and activities, as well as US$550 (~€510) to spend on board for drinks, shore excursions, or at speciality restaurants or the spa. The onboard credit is granted once per cabin, not per person.
The Celebrity Constellation departs from Civitavecchia, which is 80 km away from Rome. This is the cruise’s itinerary on its way to Tampa:
- October 22: Civitavecchia (departs at 17:00)
- October 23: Toulon, French Riviera (8 hours)
- October 24: Palma, Balearic Islands (8 hours)
- October 25: Cartagena, Mediterranean (8 hours)
- October 26-27: At sea
- October 28: Ponta Delgada, Azores (9 hours)
- October 29 – November 3: At sea
- November 4: Nassau, The Bahamas (9 hours)
- November 5: At sea
- November 6: Tampa (arrives at 5:00)
The Celebrity Constellation debuted in 2002 and is popular with older guests who want some luxury and friendly staff on their cruise. Most passengers are middle-class. While casual during the day, it is common to dress up for dinner. Food is served three times a day at the two-deck San Marco Restaurant, with enough place for 1,170 passengers at a time. The language on board is English, and the onboard currency is the US-Dollar.
Entertainment-wise, you’ll have access to a basketball court, celebrity theatre, comedy shows, demonstration kitchen, disco, enrichment lectures, featured films, film screen, fitness centre, game shows, 4 hot baths, a jogging track, karaoke, library, live music, 2 pools, the reflections lounge, rendezvous lounge, rooftop terrace, and team trivia.
The cabins feature hotel-style white bedding with light brown accents and red seats. You’ll have twin beds, which can be converted into a queen bed, a small couch, a safe, a small desk, and a flat-screen TV. You’ll also be given bathrobes.
Overall, the Celebrity Constellation has a friendly crew, but there’s not as much included as on other cruises regarding drinks and restaurant options, as well as in the spa area.
Flying back from Florida
Flights from Florida to Europe are offered by British Airways, Aer Lingus, Delta, and Lufthansa, among others. The best option to Rome, however, is probably flying with TAP from Orlando to Rome for €545, including luggage. Feel free to look for other options using our flight search:
