Gulf carrier Etihad Airways put a nice price tag on tickets from Amsterdam to Johannesburg. Full-service flights including a checked bag up to 23 kg start at €403. All connections have a (rather long) layover in Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, the availability of these tickets is pretty great. You can find multiple departures each week at the lowest fare until November 2023.
Our calendar displays all available dates for less than €500 for trips of up to 28 days. Simply select the airport of origin and the dates that suit you best, and we’ll redirect you to our Travel-Dealz flight search, where you’ll find the cheapest online travel agency. Booking on Etihad’s website costs up to €40 more.
All flights are operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Flying from Europe to Abu Dhabi takes roughly 6 hours, while the flight from Abu Dhabi to Johannesburg takes about 8 hours. The only downside of this deal is the rather long layover in Abu Dhabi of up to 7 hours.

You can find out on which dates prices are lowest by using Google Flights (instructions) or our own calendar above. Searching for the cheapest price on our Travel-Dealz flight search can then save you up to €40, compared to what Etihad charges on its website.
