EuroBonus, the frequent flyer program of SAS Scandinavian Airlines, offers a 20% discount on all award flights from May to the end of October. The already reasonably priced mileage tickets become even more attractive. The promotion runs until April 19, 2024. The discount only applies to flights operated by SAS, not Star Alliance partners.
After the discount, round-trip flights from Germany and Poland to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia are available for 16,000 miles plus taxes in economy class, including 23kg of luggage. This is an excellent deal, particularly for remote destinations such as Tromsø, Bodø, Luleå, the Faroe Islands, and especially Svalbard.
Transatlantic flights in business class are extremely interesting, as well. These come with the price tag of 80,000 miles +approx. €100 in taxes and fees roundtrip. More details can be found below.
The discount is typically displayed once you have logged into your SAS account.
Award flights can be rebooked or canceled with SAS EuroBonus for €25 (within Europe) or €75 (long-haul flights).

To Scandinavia in Economy & SAS Plus
With this offer, you will only pay 16,000 (instead of 20,000 points) for a roundtrip from Germany to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. The price includes 23 kg of luggage and large carry-on baggage, which would otherwise incur additional costs for paid tickets.
For a roundtrip flight from Europe to Scandinavia in SAS Plus (premium economy with some refreshments and lounge access), 24,000 instead of 30,000 points will be charged. It’s also a very fair rate, but unfortunately, a free middle seat is not guaranteed.
The number of stopovers on the way to your destination does not affect the price. EuroBonus also does not impose fuel surcharges, only the actual taxes and airport fees (usually under €100 for a roundtrip).
Business Class over the Atlantic for 80,000 points + €50-100
Usually, long-haul flight in business class cost 50,000 points per direction. With the discount, a roundtrip is now available at 80,000 points plus taxes. For example, you can score non-stop flights from Stockholm to Toronto for 80,000 points and €87 in taxes and fees.
Points Transfer from Amex to SAS EuroBonus
You can transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to SAS EuroBonus at a ratio of 5:4. Although the transfer time is stated as 5 working days, it usually takes only about 24 hours.
