Fiji Airways operates its Airbus A330s to San Francisco, which have a 2-4-2 configuration and its Airbus A350s to Los Angeles which offer 3-3-3 seating. The short flights are either on these aircraft, or on Boeing 737 family planes.
Search & Book
According to the fare rules, this fare will expire on June 7, 2023. The travel period lasts between June 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024, with blackout dates. There is a maximum stay of 12 months.
You can use our calendar above that will show you availabilities. Once you selected your dates, it will forward you to Momondo with your preselected flight dates. With all its disadvantages, it may be worth it to book through online travel agencies (OTAs), since they offer prices of up to €130 (~US$153) cheaper. However, if you want to go safe and book on Fiji Airways’ website, that’s also possible through Momondo. You can also search more specifically on Google Flights (instructions) for example by setting filters. You can then use our Go2 browser extension to book your flights.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Adding a Fiji Stopover
Fiji is a beautiful country and adding a stopover there is definitely an unforgettable experience. Luckily, you are able to add a layover in Nadi for a little price. On the way to Melbourne, you can add a day (or even more) for US$836 (~€712). To find availabilities, you can select a return date pair in our calendar above and use those dates as the first and the last leg. For the middle leg, you should select the date when you want to fly from Nadi to your destination.

One thing to note is that the airport is located in Nadi on the Viti Levu island. While it is also a breathtaking place to spend a day(or more), if you’d want to visit the capital, that’s either a 3-hours drive or a 30-minute flight away. That flight costs US$46 (~€39) on our example date. If you spend a bit more time in Fiji, you can also fly to Labasa on the Vanua Levu island for US$67 (~€57).
Mileage
Fiji Airways issues these tickets in booking class P. Unfortunately, this fare doesn’t earn you any mileage.
Destination
Hotel prices in Oceania usually start at roughly US$60 (~€51), depending on the hotel category. Whichever category and hotel you opt for, make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:

Information & Tips for Australia
Australia is known for natural wonders like the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and the beaches of Sydney, along with vibrant cities like Melbourne and Sydney. The local currency is the Australian dollar (AUD), and credit cards are widely accepted. The price level can be high, especially in major cities, but there are budget options available for food and accommodation. The weather varies by region—tropical in the north, temperate in the south, with hot summers and mild winters. The best times to visit are typically during spring and autumn for mild temperatures.
Australia’s transport infrastructure is generally good, with well-developed road networks, public transit systems, and domestic flights. In major cities, public transport options like buses, trams, and trains are widely available, though some areas may require a car for convenience. Between cities, domestic flights are common and fast, but bus and train travel can be slow and less frequent for long distances. Driving is a popular option for exploring regions outside cities, with roads in good condition but long travel times due to the country’s vast size.
