Beginning in April 2024, Finnair will deploy its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the morning rotation between Helsinki and Munich (Flight AY 1401). While prices used to be unreasonably high in the past, at least economy oneways are now available at a decent price for a two-hour widebody ride within Europe. Tickets from Helsinki to Munich are currently available for €58. An 8kg cabin bag (with underseat measurements) is included in the fare.
Sadly, roundtrips at €144 are not exactly cheap. The Business Class tickets (for Finnair’s lie-flat-seats) cost €268 oneway, which is not a good deal.

While it exclusively displays prices for AY 1401, please double-check if the flight actually operated by an Airbus A350-900. On some days, Finnair schedules an Airbus A320 family plane on the route. The cheapest tickets are available directly on Finnair’s website.
Finnair’s Airbus A350-900 features the common 3-3-3 seating in economy class, with all the gimmicks like video-on-demand and power outlets you’d expect in a contemporary long-haul-plane. The actual flight time is usually around 2 hours and 15 minutes.
There is no guarantee that the Airbus A350 will be used. Finnair may change the aircraft at any time, without any entitlement to compensation or rebooking.

Finnair is selling these tickets without an expiration date. The travel period is limited from April 2024 through October 2024, since Finnair only deploys the A350 on these flights during their summer schedule. In September in October, the cheapest price available rises slightly to €61.
