Bangkok: €535 Gulf Air Flights from Milan (Incl. Checked Bags)

Bangkok

Gulf Air is one of the lesser-known airlines from the Arabian Peninsula, whose name is not as glamorous as Qatar Airways or Emirates. This doesn’t prevent the airline from joining in on the decreasing prices towards Bangkok: For just €535, the airline takes you to Thailand’s capital, departing from Milan. A checked bag of 23 kg is included in this fare.

A change of planes in Bahrain is necessary to get the lowest fare. You can even shave €20 more off the price if you are willing to spend more than 20 hours in the Emirate.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Gulf Air with your selected flight dates. You can also check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €50 cheaper.

Gulf Air uses narrow-body aircraft between Milan and Bahrain, currently, they plan to use an Airbus A321 on that route. Journeys between Bahrain and Bangkok are Boeing 787 flights, with the industry standard 3-3-3 seating pattern in economy class. During both flights, you can expect a hot meal, and beverage services (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

According to the fare rules, tickets are on sale for this price until August 31, 2023 for departures before March 30, 2024. A minimum stay of three days applies, while you must not spend more than 3 months in Thailand. Stopovers in Bahrain of up to 7 days are permitted for free.

Google Flights previews available flight dates reliably. You can book directly on Gulf Air’s website or through online travel agencies, which is a lot cheaper.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Mileage

Gulf Air issues tickets for all flight segments in booking class W. Your earning options are somewhat limited:

  • 6,006 Miles on Etihad Guest
  • 3,002 Award Miles on Air Canada Aeroplan
