Nice is the largest transportation hub alongside France’s famous Côte d’Azur. While its neighboring cities of Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Monaco are famous for its lavish lifestyle, Nice is not necessarily a luxury destination when it comes to hotels. The Hotel
The Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée enjoys a five-star-rating. It is located directly on the famous Promenade des Anglais, an 8 km coastline road that connects Nice and Cannes. The city center of Nice is just a fifteen-minute walk away. You can reach Nice airport in 15-20 minutes by car, the train station is a 10-minute ride away. The beach is just across the street, and while the French winter may not be the best time to take a bath, strolling through the sand is always an option.
Despite a bath in the ocean not being an option during the travel period, the hotel also features an indoor pool. Pre-set menus at the in-house Le 3e Restaurant start at €32 per person, so you can make decent use of your $100 property credit. The view from the terrace should be great, even during the colder months of the year. The hotel has received fairly good reviews on both Google (4.4/5) and booking.com (8.4/10), with many guests praising the location and room size.
Price Check
On portals like booking.com, the cheapest refundable rates including breakfast start at €291 per night. The hotel charges €274 for a similar rate, but it is only available to World of Hyatt member (signing up for the program is free). There are not many other five-star chain hotels around, with most of them available in Cannes instead of Nice. The other luxury option in the vicinity is the La Negresco, which refundable rates start at €334, with breakfast for two persons increasing the price to €404.
