Savvy Travel-Dealz readers will be familiar with the term Virtuoso. It’s a program that promises a bunch of extras when booking hotels through selected online travel agencies, like ASMALLWORD.
One of the best Virtuoso offers of this spring is the InterContinental Malta. For €134 per night, you get a deluxe double room, breakfast for two persons, US$100 (~€92) restaurant credit, late-check out and an upgrade (based on availability). You can book this offer via ASMALLWORLD after registering free of charge:
Since the rate in question is refundable up to 16.00 on the day of arrival, you aren’t risking much by booking now and see how prices develop.
Our availability calendar preview all dates for less than €160 per night. For most April dates, you can expect to pay between between €180 and €200 before prices spike in May. You can also check how much IHG charges on their website to compare prices.
If you don’t have one already, you’ll need to create an ASMALLWORLD account. It’s completely free, and the site can be fully trusted – we’ve tested it ourselves for our own private bookings.
By booking through ASMALLWORLD, you’ll still earn IHG One Rewards points!
While the $100 restaurant credit is available only once per stay, onsite restaurants offer dining options that make them worthwhile. For example, the Italian restaurant at the waterfront offers Pizzas starting at €10, so you should be able to get at least one complete dinner out of your credit.
The Hotel is not located in Valetta, but roughly four kilometers outside of Malta’s capital in San Ġiljan (English: St.Julian). The city is famous for its nightlife, so you will not be isolated and depended on the hotels’ offerings. A beach can be reached within five minutes by foot, just like a nearby shopping center.
The hotel itself was opened in 2003 and is still in very good condition, according to numerous reviews. Even the smallest rooms are 35 m² in size and offer a balcony. You can find two swimming pools, seven restaurants and a rooftop infinity pool on the hotel’s premises.
While the travel time seems like it’s knee-deep in the off season, temperatures in Malta are actually fairly decent towards the end of the year. You can expect a daily mean of 14 degrees and 10 hours of daylight each day – roughly 2 hours more than most of Europe gets during this particular time.
This is a very good deal, as ASMALLWORLD is charging a lower price AND gives you many additional benefits, such as breakfast, late check-out and restaurant credit. Other booking platforms like Trivago dial up prices like €170 for a refundable deluxe double with breakfast for two persons. IHG charges €159 for a refundable rate including breakfast, but that excludes at $100 food-and-beverage credit that comes when booking via ASW.
