Chicago, Los Angeles, New York & Toronto: €1,185 LOT Business Class Flights from Oslo

LOT Business Class Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines brings us today a deal from Oslo to the USA and Toronto starting at just €1,185 (~NOK 13,984). This deal includes 3x 32kg checked luggage and all the business class perks. Departures are available between September and March 2025.

These are the airports where you can take advantage of this deal:

Info

You can change the ticket dates for €300 plus the fare difference. These tickets are non-refundable.

Most of the options require an overnight stay in Warsaw. You can use this time to visit the Polish capital, or you can simply stay in the Courtyard by Marriott Warsaw Airport, located in front of the terminal.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to LOT or Skyscanner with your selected flight dates. From Skyscanner you can check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €50 cheaper:

Many connections can only be found with a minimum 24-hour stopover in Warsaw. Unfortunately, this cannot be booked directly with the airline, but only through OTAs. For this purpose, the following form is available to you:

The flights (with a few exceptions) involve a layover in Warsaw. Flights from Oslo to Warsaw are operated by Embraer jets or Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. From there, you’ll continue to the final destination either on a LOT Boeing 787 with a 2-2-2 configuration or, partially (in the case of New York), on an Air Belgium Airbus A330neo with a 1-2-1 configuration.

As mentioned earlier, a longer layover in Warsaw is often necessary. This is at least one night, but usually 24 hours or longer. Multi-Day stopovers are also allowed. Some itineraries feature an additional change of planes in Rzeszów or Kraków.

The Polish airline LOT only has one long-haul aircraft type, the Boeing 787 (Dreamliner) – thus every flight will have the exact same seats. Everything is slightly above average, except the seat alignment (2-2-2), which doesn’t offer direct access to the aisle for the window seats. A further disadvantage of flying with LOT: There’s no Wi-Fi, even if you’d be willing to pay for it. So, if you intend to work (with internet access) during the flight, you should choose a different airline. LOT is, however, very generous with its baggage allowance (3 x 32 kg).

A minimum stay of six days or a Saturday overnight stay, and a maximum stay of twelve months applies. Departures are available from September to March 2025.

You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights or Matrix (Instructions). We recommend booking directly on LOT’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Book with LOT

You can book some flights directly on the LOT’s website. There, you also have access to the flexible search option of +/- 6 days, making it easy to find alternative dates.

Unfortunately, this feature is significantly less reliable for flights to New York and Los Angeles, and multi-stop searches are no longer available on the LOT website. Therefore, the alternative is to book through OTAs.

Searching for Stopovers with the Matrix

For searching multi-stop connections, the Matrix is recommended as the first step. There, you can filter for outbound flights with a minimum 24-hour layover in Warsaw and then view them on the calendar.

However, an additional option for booking is still missing. For those who prefer to book directly with the airline, they might have success if they try by phone. Otherwise, you can find various OTAs with just a few euros extra through Skyscanner.

Destination

Information & Tips for USA

The USA offers many sights, natural wonders and cultural significance. Thanks to numerous airlines offering flights across the Atlantic, it is always pretty inexpensive to get there. Alternatively, you can also cross the Atlantic by boat.

Immigration, ESTA & Visa Requirements

The USA has one of the strictest entry regulations in the world. Most EU citizens, among others, are lucky to be able to participate in the so-called Visa Waiver Program. If you get an electronic entry permit (ESTA)  for approximately €20, you don’t need a visa for entry.

The Best Time to Visit

Due to its sheer size, the perfect time to visit the USA varies greatly from region to region. In winter, Florida is very popular due to the mild temperatures. In the summer the West and East Coasts are flooded by tourists which drives up the prices for hotels and flights and during the Indian Summer in late autumn New England is a very popular destination. The hurricane season between July and September can be dangerous in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Florida and the southern states are regularly struck by these tropical storms. Blizzards occur from the East Coast to the Midwest during the winter months and regularly put air traffic and public life on hold.

Currency

The US dollar is widely used throughout the world and accepted as a currency in most tourist hotspots worldwide. That being said, carrying cash isn’t necessary in the US, all you need is a credit card! These are very common in the USA and are accepted pretty much everywhere without any issues. If you already have a credit card in your wallet, you should make sure that it does not charge a foreign currency fee if possible. Carrying a few dollars in cash doesn’t hurt though. You might need cash e.g. for the bus ticket if you want to buy it directly from the driver. Most of the time you even have to give exact change.
