MSC Seaview: 15-18 Nights Europe to Rio de Janeiro Cruise for €663 pp (Balcony Cabin Starting at €1,064)

riodejaneiro

Along with her sister MSC Seaside, the MSC Seaview is among the biggest ships of MSC Cruises. In Fall 2022, she will cross the Atlantic Ocean with departure from Genoa in an 18-Day cruise. An inside cabin is available for as little as £579 (~€675) depending on the route. Fares include all taxes, fees and tips.

Update

The Barcelona cruise’s price has slightly decreased. The rest of the departures stayed around the same when paying with EUR, even though the GBP price has increased.

Info

It is best to read the current MSC Cruises regulations regarding Covid on the ship in advance. Among other things, you must wear mouth and nose protection in all public areas if you are not seated. You must have proof that you have been vaccinated or have recovered. Individual shore leave is possible again but depends on the regulations of the ports.

Cruises booked until August can be changed flexibly, but a fare difference may apply.

There are three ships that will make their way down to Brazil during the Fall. MSC Seaview is rated the best, hence it’s the most expensive. MSC Armonia starts at £344 (~€401) for Barcelona-Rio. MSC Fantasia has very cheap balcony cabins starting at £668 (~€779) for the same route and £833 (~€971) for 19 nights.

The Ship

The 323 meters long and 41 meters wide MSC Seaview was commissioned in 2018. Back then, her 150,000 tons made her the largest ship in MSC’s service, alongside the identical MSC Seaside. By now, she is in fourth place among MSC cruise ships (not counting identical ships). Main onboard language is English, but the staff usually speaks Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, too. The onboard currency for this cruise is Euro.

There are several outdoor pools, an aqua park with water slides, a high ropes course, and various bars and restaurants. A total of up to 5,300 guests can board the ship. There is also a theatre, cigar lounge, spa, kids club and casino. So you won’t get bored that quickly.

Prices for internet packages are not listed on MSC’s website but become available once booked. You can purchase daily packages, worth up to $20 per day. You can find more information about Wi-Fi on MSC cruise ships here.

Transport

Since this cruise does not include transport, you face the task of taking care of your return to Europe yourself. The cheapest flights back are offered by TAP to Madrid starting at €399 and by LATAM to Vienna at €428.

Getting to Genoa isn’t that big of a problem, as the city itself and several airports close by receive services from low-cost carriers. Possible origins spread all across Europe. We recommend arriving at least one day prior to the ship’s departure.
