Premium Economy to Phuket for €802 from Stockholm with Star Alliance in Spring 2023

Swiss Premium Economy Sitz

The Lufthansa Group Airlines (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss), Thai Smile, and Singapore Airlines are selling premium economy tickets to Phuket for only SEK 8,369 (~€757). As these airlines don’t offer direct flights from Europe to Phuket, you’ll have to endure two layovers – one in Europe, the other in Asia. On the bright side, you get to sit in comfortable seats and bring 2x 23 kg of luggage.

Our calendar displays all available dates for trips of 6-28 days. Once you’ve selected the dates that suit you best, you can click on the blue button to be redirected to Lufthansa’s booking site:

By the way, you can also fly from Paris for €880. Depending on where you live, that may be a cheaper option.

After flying economy class to one of the Lufthansa Group’s hubs (e.g. Vienna or Zurich), you would fly premium economy to an Asian Star Alliance hub (e.g. Bangkok or Singapore), from where either Thai Smile (in premium economy) or Singapore Airlines (in economy class) will fly you to Phuket.

Search & Book

The fare rules state a minimum stay requirement of 6 days (or a Sunday). These flights can’t be cancelled, but can be rebooked without having to pay a rebooking fee.

You can find all available dates from Stockholm for trips of 6-28 days on our calendar above. For longer trips or flights from Paris, feel free to use Google Flights. The flights can be easily booked on Lufthansa’s website.

The flights between Stockholm and the European hub are issued in booking class Y. The long-haul premium economy flights are issued in booking class N. Info

Sadly, many programs don’t give any miles for SWISS premium economy flights yet, as that class is quite new and the majority of the Star Alliance’s frequent flyer programs haven’t updated their tables yet. For now (to our knowledge), you’re only sure to earn miles on United MileagePlus, LATAM Pass, and Miles&More.

Hotel prices in Phuket usually start at roughly €20, depending on the hotel category. Whichever category and hotel you opt for, make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:

Information & Tips for Thailand

Thailand is famous for its vibrant cities, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Key sights include the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in Bangkok, the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui. The currency is the Thai baht (THB), and while credit cards are commonly accepted in tourist areas, cash is often preferred in local markets. The cost of living is generally low, with budget accommodations and street food available, but prices can rise in more touristy areas. The weather is tropical, with a hot, rainy season from May to October and a cooler, dry season from November to February.

Getting around Thailand is fairly easy, with a mix of modern and traditional options. In cities like Bangkok, public transport includes the Skytrain (BTS), metro (MRT), and river ferries, which are convenient but can get crowded. Taxis and motorbike taxis are also widely available. For intercity travel, buses and trains are common and affordable, though train journeys can be slow. Domestic flights are frequent and often the fastest way to travel longer distances, especially to popular islands or northern regions. However, traffic congestion in urban areas can be a challenge, particularly during rush hours.

Are the miles in the mileage example calculated for Business Class, maybe? Premium Economy in N gives 100% in most programs so you could never reach 24-26,000 on this routing.
