Paramaribo: €1,484 Nonstop Surinam Airways Business Class from Amsterdam in 2024

Paramaribo, Surinam

South American carrier Surinam Airways currently sells discounted tickets for its nonstop Amsterdam to Paramaribo service in business class. Tickets are available for as little as €1,484 for their business class. All fares include board service and two checked bags of up to 23 kg, as well as lounge access. Sadly, you can’t earn any miles with these tickets.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to our flight search with your selected flight dates.

Surinam Airways regularly swapped its long-haul planes in the past. Since 2019, the airline operated its Amsterdam service with an Airbus A340, a Boeing 777 and an Airbus A330. Now, it has gone back to the A340-300, that the airline purchased from Air Belgium. While we could not confirm the Surinam Airways sticks to the former interior, you can expect lie-flat-seats in an alternating 2-2-1 and 1-2-1 pattern if they do.

When it comes to service, you can find a pre-Covid review here and a more recent one here.

The fare rules merely state that your trip has to include one Sunday. You can find availabilities using Google Flights (instructions) or simply use our calendar above. We recommend booking directly with Surinam Airways, through our flight search.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Mileage

Since Surinam Airways isn’t a member of any airline alliance, you won’t be able to get any miles for this flight, even in business class.

Destination

Tourists from most European Union countries do not need a visa to enter Suriname. You still have to pay a €25 (or $25) entrance fee online. You can do that and find further information on VFS Global, the country’s online travel portal.

Hotel prices in Paramaribo usually start at roughly €30, depending on the hotel category. Whichever category and hotel you opt for, make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:
