Not only do Best Western Rewards, and Hilton Honors offer a decent status match, but so does Choice Privileges. While the match is comparatively easy, it comes with the notable downside that Choice Privileges offers very limited benefits to its elite customers. The program also notably devalued its currency Choice Points on several occasions this year.
However, at best you can get the Platinum status, and thus only limited benefits:
- 25% bonus points
- Award nights available up to 75 days before arrival
- 250 points or a free drink in the USA at check-in
Sadly, that’s all there is to achieve. An upgrade based on availability is only available from the Diamond status onward, which is above Platinum.
Choice Hotels include the brands Clarion, Quality, Comfort, and Ascend. In total, there are over 6,400 hotels. Many of them are in the USA, but there are also roughly 80 hotels in Europe – most of them outside of Scandinavia. The match grants no benefits at Strawberry Hotels (formerly Nordic Choice Hotels), which runs its own loyalty program.
The Matching Process

- A screenshot of your current status with a different program
It took us roughly 48 hours to receive a reply, although it may take up to nine working days.
Choice used to offer a fast track to Diamond Status if you add confirmation of a valid booking of a night at Cambria Hotels to your application email. The corresponding website has been taken offline, so it’s probably no longer available. However, if you already stayed a night at a Cambria Hotel and have proof, it can’t hurt to include in your request.

Validity
If you apply for the status between January and June, the status will only remain valid during the current year. If you apply between July and December, the status remains valid until the end of the following year.
One Elite Status Match is valid for the current calendar year only, if status is matched anytime between January—June. The Elite Status Match is valid for the current and the following year (only) if status is matched anytime between July—December
