The rooms at the Grand Hyatt are roughly 28 m2 large. On the day of arrival, you’ll be allowed to check in early (starting at 9:00) and will get a US$20 (~€19) gift card for The Market and the OneUp Lounge. Furthermore, you’ll get US$50 (~€47) to spend there or elsewhere in the hotel, e.g. for the minibar, laundry, valet parking, or room service. You’ll also get a free upgrade, though this hotel has so many room categories, that it may not be worth much – possibly just a higher floor.

The Hotel
The Grand Hyatt San Francisco is a cosmopolitan 4-star hotel located in a tower, offering free wifi, a gym, conference rooms, a bistro, and a bar. You’re a short walk away from Union Square and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, as well as from many shopping stores.
Previous guests have left good reviews of the hotel (e.g. 4.4/5 on Google), many highly praising the view of the bay. The only point of criticism seems to be the long waiting times for the elevator.
Located in Union Square, you’re in the business centre of the city. Union Square/Market St Station is only 2 blocks away.
Price Check
Paying only €168 per night, including all those extras, is rare for this hotel, e.g. you’d pay around €306 for the same rate later in January.
But even on the same dates, booking a bed and breakfast rate on Hyatt’s website instead of ASMALLWORLD’s would cost €209 + taxes per night – i.e. €40 more per night – and you wouldn’t even get the US$70 (~€65) hotel credit and the upgrade!
The price also holds up when you compare it to similar hotels in San Francisco which charge more without any extras, such as the Fairmont (€205), Hyatt Regency (€235), Marriott Marquis (€225), The Westin St. Francis on Union Square (€200), Omni Hotel (€195), or the InterContinental (€230).
