Hurtigruten Cruises: No Single Cabin Supplement for Select Departures Until April 2024

Hurtigruten

Currently, there is an interesting offer for the traditional Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage along the west coast of Norway. Solo travellers do not have to pay a single cabin supplement on some dates. Prices start at €1,803 for an interior cabin on the entire route, but you can also book a smaller trip, such as only booking the way back (Kirekenes to Bergen) for €902.

The full journey lasts for 12 days / 11 nights, during which you will visit 34 ports on both the outbound and return routes. Full board meal service is included. Availability is good for trips until April 2024.

In addition, there is no single cabin supplement on some other Hurtigruten routes. You can find a list of options here.

While the promotional page lists several cruises on which the discount is supposedly available, we have only been able to confirm for these routings:

Several ships are used, including the MS Nordlys. It was built in 1994 and modernized in 2019, reaching a maximum speed of 19 knots and accommodating 590 passengers. The ship is 121 meters long and 19 meters wide. Onboard facilities include a bar, restaurant, observation deck, fitness room, sauna, and a car deck if you want to bring your vehicle. The onboard language is English, and the onboard currency is the Norwegian Krone. Take a look at the cabins:

Getting to Bergen

Hurtigruten offers the option to add the flight to Bergen during the booking process (for an additional fee). Alternatively, you can arrange your flights to Bergen and back yourself. In general, you should budget approximately €110 – €200 for the round-trip flight (depending on the date and baggage fees). Pay close attention to your departure on the way to ensure you arrive on time. If you arrive late, the ship won’t wait for you.
