Lufthansa: Inaugural Flight of Allegris Cabin on May 1 (Seats Now Selectable)

Lufthansa passengers have been eagerly awaiting the inaugural flight of the new Allegris cabin. Now, on May 1, 2024, it will finally happen, and passengers can now select a seat in the new cabin on the first two routes from Munich to Vancouver and Toronto. Initially, all seats can be selected free of charge, but this will change.

On May 1, 2024, LH476 will take off from Munich to Vancouver, marking the beginning of a new era, especially in the business class at Lufthansa. On May 2, 2024, LH494 will also fly directly to the second destination, Toronto, with the new cabin.

However, the new cabin will not be deployed on the two new routes every day. After May 1, flights to Vancouver will resume on May 5, 9, and 10. Availability looks better for Toronto. Currently, flights are planned for May 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Initially, Lufthansa does not want to commit more than three weeks in advance to which flights the new cabin will be deployed. As a passenger on these routes, it is advisable to check the seat plan about three weeks before departure in the initial period to select a good seat.

During the second quarter, the new cabin is expected to be available for late summer travel. At that point, only the Business Class Classic seat will remain free to reserve. A surcharge will be required for the other four options. The exact amount will be announced at the end of April. However, during online check-in, which opens 30 hours before departure, all remaining available seats can still be selected free of charge.

Next Destinations: Chicago & Montreal

Once more A350s with the new cabin have been delivered in late summer, additional destinations will be served with the new cabin. The next routes will be Munich-Chicago LH434/435 and Munich-Montreal LH474/475. The new first class is also expected to be available for the first time in the fourth quarter.
