USA incl. Puerto Rico, West Coast: JetBlue Flights from Dublin to Starting at €289 (Checked Bag Adds €110)

USA Flagge

US airline jetBlue is currently offering cheap tickets for transatlantic flights from Dublin. You can reach San Juan, Puerto Rico starting at €289 and many other destinations like Los Angeles, San Francisco or Detroit starting at €328. Flying with jetBlue comes with a 32-inch legroom, free wi-fi in addition to the standard meal service.

Unfortunately, the fare doesn’t include a checked bag. Adding one on jetBlue’s website costs US$120 (~€112) while the Blue fare would raise the price by US$131 (~€122). The other bad news is the low availability: these tickets are only available in March 2024.

You can fly to the following destinations:

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Expedia with your selected flight dates. You can also check jetBlue’s website, although you’d need to pay in US dollars.

You would first clear US pre-clearance in Dublin before boarding your Airbus A321LR to Boston or New York. These planes have a 3-3 configuration and a minimum pitch of 32 inches. You’ll get a meal service and have access to inflight entertainment and wi-fi. After a domestic transfer in Boston or New York, you’d fly one of jetBlue’s Airbus A320 family planes to your destination. The older A320s and A321s have an even larger 34-inch legroom.

According to the fare rules, this fare will expire on January 4, 2024. There is a minimum stay of 7 nights or a Saturday night and a maximum stay of 12 months. You also need to start your trip by March 31, 2024.

You can use our calendar above that will show you availabilities. Once you select your dates, it will forward you to either jetBlue’s website or to Expedia.ie with your preselected flight dates. For the routes that don’t have an availability calendar, you can check Google Flights (instructions). You can then use our Go2 browser extension to book your flights.

Mileage

jetBlue issues these tickets in booking class L. This is what a trip to San Juan would earn you:

Information & Tips for USA

The USA offers many sights, natural wonders and cultural significance. Thanks to numerous airlines offering flights across the Atlantic, it is always pretty inexpensive to get there. Alternatively, you can also cross the Atlantic by boat.

Immigration, ESTA & Visa Requirements

The USA has one of the strictest entry regulations in the world. Most EU citizens, among others, are lucky to be able to participate in the so-called Visa Waiver Program. If you get an electronic entry permit (ESTA)  for approximately €20, you don’t need a visa for entry.

The Best Time to Visit

Due to its sheer size, the perfect time to visit the USA varies greatly from region to region. In winter, Florida is very popular due to the mild temperatures. In the summer the West and East Coasts are flooded by tourists which drives up the prices for hotels and flights and during the Indian Summer in late autumn New England is a very popular destination. The hurricane season between July and September can be dangerous in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Florida and the southern states are regularly struck by these tropical storms. Blizzards occur from the East Coast to the Midwest during the winter months and regularly put air traffic and public life on hold.

Currency

The US dollar is widely used throughout the world and accepted as a currency in most tourist hotspots worldwide. That being said, carrying cash isn’t necessary in the US, all you need is a credit card! These are very common in the USA and are accepted pretty much everywhere without any issues. If you already have a credit card in your wallet, you should make sure that it does not charge a foreign currency fee if possible. Carrying a few dollars in cash doesn’t hurt though. You might need cash e.g. for the bus ticket if you want to buy it directly from the driver. Most of the time you even have to give exact change.
