Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Ulaanbaatar is during the summer months from June to August when the weather is relatively mild. Mongolia has a continental climate, so winters can be freezing, making summer the most comfortable time for exploration.
Chinggis Khaan International Airport (ULN) is the main international gateway to Ulaanbaatar. From the airport, you can reach the city centre by taxi or airport shuttle. Public transportation options are also available.
Ulaanbaatar is home to many historical, cultural, and modern attractions. The Gandantegchinlen Monastery, one of the city’s most important religious sites, features a massive statue of Avalokiteshvara. Sukhbaatar Square, at the heart of the city, is surrounded by important government buildings and statues, including the statue of Genghis Khan.
