SAS Premium Economy to Europe for $788 from Chicago & New York (w/ Lounge Access)

sas plus premium economy

Star Alliance member SAS is currently selling cheap premium economy flights from Chicago and New York to various European cities. The cheapest option is flying non-stop to Stockholm for US$788 (~€735), but flights to the rest of Europe are barely more expensive. You would be flying in more comfortable seats and would have 23 kg of luggage included, in addition to lounge access.

These flights are available between October 1 and March 31. For non-stop flights and from New York to Milan, Paris and Amsterdam you can find the cheapest available dates for trips of up to 28 days in our availability calendar below. It will forward you to either SAS or Momondo. OTAs offer these prices for up to US$30 (~€28) cheaper.

Here are some of the possible routes from New York:

From Chicago:

The routes mentioned offer good flight times, with short layovers. You can also fly to many other destinations in Europe, but those usually require a (very) long layover in Stockholm or Copenhagen. If you’re up to it, and see it as a good way to explore a Scandinavian capital before reaching your destination, then go for it. But be aware that some of these long layovers are overnight layovers and that hotel prices in Scandinavia are not cheap.

SAS Plus

Compared to other airlines, SAS actually has pretty nice amenities included in its premium economy product. While the two carry-ons and a checked bag may not be that unique, these fares also include lounge access and fast track security (where available).

The hard product itself is pretty average. The Airbus A350 has a 2-4-2 configuration, the Airbus A330 has 2-3-2 seating and the Airbus A321LRs have a 2-2 configuration. You can read our review of a flight from Los Angeles to Copenhagen on the A350.

Within Europe, SAS also offers SAS Plus instead of business class. However, they don’t block the middle seats, meaning food is the only difference between economy and Plus.
