Star Alliance carrier Lufthansa (and to some extent Air Canada) is selling very cheap business class tickets to Canadian metropolis Montreal and Toronto. Tickets sell as low as TND 3,517 (~€1,040) on Lufthansa’s website. The only major downside of this deal (besides the very early departure from Northern Africa) is a long layover (6-8 hours) in Frankfurt on the outbound flight.
These tickets are not refundable if you cancel them. To change flight dates, you’d need to pay the fare difference, but at least the rebooking fee is waived.
Canada abolished all Covid-related travel restrictions on October 1, 2022.
Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Lufthansa with your preselected flight dates. You can also check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €150 cheaper, but with an additional stop on the outbound flight.
Lufthansa takes you in a European Business Class seat aboard their A320 fleet from Tunis to Frankfurt or Munich. A Boeing 747-400 (Toronto) or Airbus A340-300 (Montreal) takes you across the Atlantic Ocean. Both feature Lufthansa’s standard business class product: lie-flat-seats in a 2-2-2 pattern. For a little more, you can also fly Air Canada.
Many of our readers may have already experienced Lufthansa’s business class. Generally, Travel-Dealz writers and readers are not big fans of the Lufthansa business class, even though it is definitely not bad. One reason for that is that the service is too inconsistent: From extremely friendly and quick to unfriendly and slow – everything is possible with Lufthansa, even in business class.
The Canadian Star Alliance member Air Canada has three business class versions: an old one, which is mostly disappearing, and two modern versions. We can recommend the flights in the Boeing 787, as you’ll be guaranteed a business class experience which is up to the current expectations. Travel-Dealz founder Johannes flew from Copenhagen to Toronto with the 787-Dreamliner and was generally very satisfied.

The fare rules don’t give any information about an expiredate for this deal. You need to stay at least six days in Canada to get the lowest fare. You can find flights at the lowest fare between August 2022 and April 2023. Availability gets increasingly better at the end of the travel period.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
