Buenos Aires & São Paulo: €631 Turkish Airlines Flights from Oslo in March (w/ Luggage & Stopover in Istanbul)

Buenos Aires Lancha Tigre

Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines is currently offering tickets from Oslo to Buenos Aires and São Paulo starting at €631 (~NOK 7,385). While the two included 23kg checked bags are a plus, unfortunately, you’d need to spend two nights in Istanbul. You can, however, extend those layovers in Istanbul for various nights, allowing you to explore the Turkish metropolis at no extra flight cost. Hotels are, however, not included.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Skyscanner with your selected flight dates. If you’d prefer to book through TK’s website, it’s only €40 more expensive.

You would first fly TK’s narrowbody (Airbus A320 family or Boeing 737 family, both having a 3-3 layout) to Istanbul. After a night there, you would board an Airbus A350 which all have a 3-3-3 layout in economy class. The plane would first stop in São Paulo, before continuing to Buenos Aires. Throughout your journey, you will enjoy TK’s praised catering.

Search & Book

The fare rules do not state how long this fare will remain valid. There is a minimum stay of 3 nights or a Saturday night and a maximum stay of 12 months.

You can use our calendar above that will show you availabilities. Once you select your dates, it will forward you to either Turkish Airlines’ website or to Skyscanner with your preselected flight dates. With all its disadvantages, it may be worth it to book through online travel agencies (OTAs), since they offer prices of up to €40 (~NOK 468) cheaper. You can also search more specifically on Google Flights (instructions) for example by setting filters. You can then use our Go2 browser extension to book your flights.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Hint

If you are a student, you can take advantage of TK’s student ticket offering to Buenos Aires at NOK 7,443 (~€636). To find this price, choose “Search on turkishairlines.com” in the calendar below and change the passenger type on TK’s search bar from Adult to Student.

Adding a Stopover in Istanbul

The fare allows you to spend as much time as you want in Istanbul, in both directions. To add a stopover, you need to search for the flights as a multi-city trip. Here’s an example, of where you’d spend 3 nights in Istanbul on the outbound flight:
