In May, Qatar Airways had given away 100,000 tickets to health care workers and their travel partners. In hindsight, that promotion didn’t end up being worth much as there were very few redemption options until the end of 2021. Nevertheless, the Oneworld member is giving it another try with a similar offer:
From today onward, teachers, educators, and other pedagogic staff can request a promo code, which can then be redeemed for a free flight ticket to any destination that they wish to fly to. They only need to pay the taxes and fees for the flights, which, depending on the airport of origin and destination, will be around €120 – €200. Not even the fuel surcharge will have to be paid.
A highlight is that you can travel until September 30th, 2021. After requesting a promo code, you’ll also receive a coupon that grants you a 50% discount – which you could e.g. use for your travel partner’s flight.
Conditions
New codes will be sent out daily at 5:00 (CEST) until October 7th. There seem to still be promo codes available today – at least the form can still be filled out.
- Promotion period: October 5th – 7th, 2020 (to request the code)
- Redemption period: October 7th – November 1st, 2021
- Travel period: October 20th, 2020 – September 30th, 2021
- The promo code can be used for all worldwide destinations, that Qatar Airways flies to (not for codeshares)
- Only valid for economy class
- Bookings need to be made at least 14 days in advance
- The promo code only works for flights, which still have availability for booking class W
- You can find a full list of applicable professions on the landing page.
- When applying, you need to enter a staff ID. It is unclear, what exactly Qatar is expecting here.
- You need to be able to prove that you work as a teacher at the check-in counter.

Search for a flight on QatarAirways.com and enter the promo code. Please be aware that redeeming the promo code is only possible from October 7th for flights until September 2021.
- Complete the booking process
Your flight costs should merely be the taxes & fees. After completing your booking, you can change your dates and destination free of charge.
- Bring a proof of your profession to the airport.
When checking in at the airport, you’ll have to prove that you’re working in one of the mentioned professions. If you can’t do this, your ticket will either be canceled or you’ll have to pay the price difference to the regular price.
