Star Alliance members Edelweiss Air, SWISS (and for a little extra Lufthansa and Eurowings Discover Airlines) came together to offer business class flights from Göteborg and Stockholm in Sweden to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic starting at just SEK 16,915 (~€1,467). The fare includes two checked bags weighing 32 kilos, lounge access and a lie-flat seat on the long flight.
Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Lufthansa with your selected flight dates.

You would first fly to Zürich in SWISS’ large selection of narrowbody jets. Luckily they block the middle or adjacent seat even on regional planes. From Zürich, you would fly Edelweiss’ Airbus A340 planes which have an alternating 1-2-2 & 2-2-1 configuration. For about €30 more, you can choose Discover Airlines’ A330s, although they don’t have window seats with direct aisle access.
Edelweiss Business Class

The Edelweiss business class in an Airbus A340 comes in an alternating 1-2-1 or 2-2-1 configuration with lie flat seats. Seat comfort can therefore vary especially since some of the seats do not have window access according to seatguru.com (row 8). Other single seats on the left hand side can have a lot of space and privacy (seats 4A, 6A, 8A, 10A, 12A).
Search & Book
The fare rules do not state how long this fare will remain valid, but outline a travel period of September-October 2023 and May-July 2024. There is a minimum stay of 8 nights and a maximum stay of 12 months.
You can use our calendar above that will show you availabilities. Once you select your dates, it will forward you to Lufthansa’s website with your preselected flight dates. In this case, we don’t recommend booking through online travel agencies (OTAs), as they don’t offer a price advantage. You can also search more specifically on Google Flights (instructions) for example by setting filters. You can then use our Go2 browser extension to book your flights.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Mileage
Your booking class will be P, however, it differs heavily whether your flight is operated by Edelweiss, Discover, Lufthansa or SWISS.
